To celebrate this marvellously macabre month and the countdown to All Hallows Eve, I have been posting some works by my favourite Halloween / monster artists.
This evening's post features the art of the gorgeous and talented Belle Dee (aka Shana Bilbrey).

WOW! These are absolutely awesome! I don't know her or her work, so thanks for introducing me to her/it.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Professor! They are fabulous aren't they?! So glad you enjoyed them!
DeleteRad, I like her art style.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Ms Ladyfair! It combines a few of my favourite things - retro style, vibrant colours, and a cheeky sense of fun - with Halloween and Hollywood classics. Love!
DeleteI admire her vintage style carracatures , vibrant colours to our fav darlings!
ReplyDeleteI love that Belle lends vibrant colours to our favourite darlings too, dear Debi! And that vintage style? Love!
DeleteI've got to say, when it comes to Halloween I do like the retro material. Then again, I just love vintage Halloween illustrations. Out of those shown here it was "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Vincent Price Presents." Of course, how could I ever not mention Elvira. She's a constant. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Nightwind - nice to learn we share a love of Elvira and vintage Halloween illustrations! I think that's what drew me to Belle's work in the first place, her re-imagining of those gorgeous classic Halloween images. There are lots more I haven't included here, so you might enjoy checking out her blog to see her Countdown to Halloween pieces and the originals from the 1940s - 1970s that inspired them . :)
DeleteI truly LOVE these! So hard to choose a favourite, but the Vincent Price piece has kind of stolen my heart.
ReplyDeleteBeauty and talent! ♥
Aren't they fabulous?! I think that Vincent Price piece is particularly special too - I would love to see it turned into a real album cover for those 'Stories & Poems Read by Vincent Price' LP's!

DeleteI was saying to Yvonne that it would be great to see the 'Vincent Price Presents' piece turned into a real album cover for those 'Stories & Poems Read by Vincent Price' LP's!
